The Makalu Base Layer is made for when things get serious. Colder, higher, longer. Its brushed inner grid traps body heat while staying breathable — locking in warmth without feeling heavy. It’s warmer than our K2 layer and designed to be the foundation of your cold-weather system: worn directly against skin, under insulation or shells. Ideal for summit climbs over 5,000m, winter treks, and expedition photography where movement pauses but the cold doesn’t.
