1. Kakolem Beach

This tiny paradise is quite difficult to find. But once you’re here, you’ll find all your efforts were certainly worth it. This is one of the most isolated, wild and cleanest beaches in the whole Goa.

The view of the beach from the cliffs above is breathtaking. There is no proper road to the beach but only a small path, off the main road that leads to the beach.

You can either get there through the NH 66 while driving towards Cola Village or take a boat. Where: 7 km south of Cabo De Rama resort, South Goa

2. Galibaga Beach

Galgibaga Beach is one of three other Goa beaches (alongside Agonda and Morjim Beaches) where the initiative of olive turtles saving and protection works and implemented perfectly. Also considered one of the best beaches in Goa.

It is one of those very few hidden beaches in Goa with crystal clear water and shimmering silver sands and is also claimed to be the cleanest beach seen in Goa or maybe even India. If you happen to visit this beach between December and February, you might be lucky to see some turtle nests/eggs.

Where: It is located 46km away from Margao. You can also travel on NH 17 from Canacona and take the winding road to Galgibaga.

3. Cumbharjua Canal

A peaceful backwater cruise down this little marshy stretch is a relaxing way to spend the day and is sure to give you plenty of great memories to take back home with you.

Cumbharjua Backwaters is the biggest wetland in Goa and also home to the largest species of Crocodiles. The muggers are freshwater crocodiles, who have adapted well to the salinity of the waterway, astonishingly these reptiles are found nowhere else in India.

Where: A 20-km eastward drive from Panjim.

4. Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary

This place is a treat both for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts as there are various hiking trails traversing this enormous tract of land. The Sanctuary holds the title of the largest wildlife preserve within the state of Goa.

The rich wildlife includes Tiger, Leopards, Elephants, Deers, Indian Bison, the King Cobra, Hump-nosed pit viper, Indian rock python, Malabar pit vipers, and wide variety of birds like fairy bluebird, wagtails, three-toed kingfisher, drongo, golden oriole, and great Indian hornbill.

Where: It is located on the eastern border of the state of Goa, near the village of Mollem. It is about 53km from Margao and 54km from Panaji. You can easily bargain and book a cab from Panaji

5. Chorla ghats

Chorla ghats it is truly a place lost in time. The romantic rides through bridges, lakes and rice fields make a traveler dive into the wilderness of the Western Ghats. The magical place is nestled among the Sahyadri mountain ranges.

Relatively untouched by civilization, it shies away from Goa’s ever so sunny climate and engulfs one with drops of mountain mist and utter silence.

Where: Madgaon railway station is just 25 km from Chorla Ghat.

6. Pequeno Island

The Island forms a great surprise for those seeking adventures. The island is famous for snorkeling and is considered a perfect destination for snorkelers. You could hire the training equipment by tour organizers or operators.

Or you could just sit and relax with your buddies over a campfire play some good songs on the beach.

How to get there: Head to the Vasco da Gama harbor and you can find numerous boatmen over there who can reach you to the island.

7. Harvalem Falls

Harvalem is amongst the most beautiful waterfalls in Goa with milky white water cascading down tough scenic boulders. The waterfall remains concealed from the eyes of the world, which allows visitors to complete privacy.

The famous site is also a favorite place for filmmakers, film directors, and photographers who love capturing the beauty of this idyllic place.
